9th. August 1776.

Verdict of the Jury touching the Death of a Woman unknown
That the said woman unknown not being of sound Mind Memory
and Understanding but lunatick and distracted on the 8th. day
of August 1776, or some few days before in a certain waters
Called the Bason situate in Hyde Park in the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square did cast and throw herself and then
and there by means thereof in the said Waters was Suffocated
and Drowned of which said Suffocation and Drowning she the
Said woman unknown then and there instantly Died. And
so the Jurors on their Oath say that the said woman
unknown not being of sound Mind Memory & Understanding
but lunatick and Distracted in manner and by the means
aforesaid did Kill herself. and not otherwise. In Witness
whereof the Foreman on behalf of himself and the rest
of the Jurors has hereunto set his Hand this 9th. day of
August 1776.
