Deced came home and Dept. heard her Strike a light
and Saying, you Dog got off the Bed that I may go into Bed,
and soon after heard a Noice as if somebody had faller
down upon the Floor, Says that she after wards heard
several Blows given in Deced's Room for a considerable time but Dept. cannot
say what they were given with, but believes they were
not given with the Hand only, Says that Mary afterwards
desired Deced to came into Bad, Says that after two
o'Clock in the Morning she heard the Watchman say
that he thought he heard somebody Groaning, to which
Mary Answered that it was only a Drunken Man,
Says that a little before three o' Clock said Mary
called to Dept. and said that Kirkwood was Dead
and Desired Dept. to come into her Room, but Dept. did
not go until the Watchman came, when said Mary
light her Candle, and the Watchman & this Dept.
went into Deced's Room with said Mary, and there
found the Deced dead lying Naked on his Back on
the Floor, Says that she asked said Mary how it
happened to which she answered that she took off his
Cloaths and endeavoured to got him into Bed again

Edward Doe< no role > Labourer on his Oath saith that he lodges
in a Room on the First Floor in Cork Cutters Alley
over the Room in which the Deced lodged, Says that he
was in Bed on Monday Night last and about two
o'Clock in the Morning, his wife informed him that
the Deced was brought home Drunk, Says that he
then heard Somebody Groan in Deced's Room, Says
that a little after three o'Clock he called up Mrs. Ellsoy
who informed him that Kirkwood was dead.

Elizabeth< no role > the wife of Edward Doe< no role > on her Oath saith that
on Monday Night last between Ten and Eleven o'Clock the
Deced was brought home by two Men very drunk &
insensible, Says that she lighted them into Deced's Room
and the two Man lifted the Deced and laid him upon
the Bed, afterwhich they went away leaving the Deced
there in his Cloaths and desiring Dept. to shut the Door
which she did, Says that about a Quarter before Twelve
o'Clock a Woman (who lives with Deced, and commonly
called Mary Kirkwood< no role > ) came home, and when she was
get into her Room Dept. heard her call the Deced
Drunken Black guard, and several other Names
and afterwards heard several Blows given which
from the Sound Dept. thinks were given with a
Leather Strap, Says that about half an hour after
two o'Clock she heard the Watchman said that he thought he
heard Death Groans to which Mary Kirkwood< no role > Answer
that it was only a Drunken Man, Says that she
did not afterwards see the Deced until Nine o'Clock
the next Morning when the Deced lay Dead on the
Floor, Says that Mary Kirkwood< no role > then told this
Dept. that she had pulled the Deced off the Bad, and
taken off his Cloaths in order to get him into the Bed

Thomas Wright< no role > one of the Watchman of the parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . on his Oath saith that on
Monday Night last at half ham after two Dept. on
passing by a House in Cork Cutters Alley he heard somebody
Groan, upon which he Knocked and was told by some
Woman in Deced's Room that it was only a Drunken
Man, upon which he went away, Says that when he was
crying the hour of three he was called into the Deced's
Room and there found him Dead lying Naked upon his
Back on the Floor but Dept. observed no Marks of
violence upon him. Says that the Woman who was
in the Room appeared to be sober says that he
Acquainted another Watchman with it who went
with
