Informations taken this 4th day of January
1772 at the Parish of St. Margaret Westminster upon
an Inquisition touching the death of Thomas Rice< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

Joseph Carter< no role > a Laborer Servant to Mr. John
Philips
< no role > a Brewer in Providence Court Peter Street
in the [..]
Oath saith That Thomas Rice< no role > the Deced was Staker
to said Mr. Phillips, Says that on Monday Decr. 2d.
last about two o'Clock in the Afternoon the Deced
was Pumping some Borling Amber wort out of the Jack [..] into
the Cooler in said Brewhouse, Says that a Plank
upon which the Deced stood to Pump the wort
slipped from under his Feet and that the Deced fell
into the Boiling Wort in the Jack Back, Says
that the Deced's Legs & Knees were Sealded, very much
that he threw himself backwards out of the Jack
Back, and stept into a Back of Yaast, Says that
the Deced was immediately carried to the Westmr.
Hospital, where he longuished until the 31st. day of
Decr. and then died in said Hospital.of the Sealding
aforesaid, And Says that there was no Person near
the Deced when he fell into the Jack Back and that
it was merely accidental as abovementioned And
says that the Amber Wort abovementioned was the P [..]
