Informations taken this twentieth day of February
1764 at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Middlesex on an Inquisition taken on View
of the Body of John Bannester< no role > an Infant lying Dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

James Butter< no role > a Lodger at Mrs. Cann in High Holborn Carpenter
on his Oath saith that he was at Work on Saturday last at a
New built House situate in Wimpole Street in the Parish of St. Mary
le bon in the County of Middlesex , Says that about three O'Clock
that Afternoon Deponent was Working on the Ground Floor, and
that [..] a piece of Deal Board fell [..] on the Floor close to Deponent, say
that he there upon looked up, and saw Deced falling down,and
Deced immediately fell
and lighting first upon a Board one
pair of Stairs in said House, and Deced from thence fell upon
the Bench on the Ground Floor, on which Deponent Worked,
Says that Deced fell with his face downwards upon said Bench
says that Deponent and Samuel White< no role > house a Bakeranother Carpenter
took up the Deced and laid him upon the Bench, but Deced
was motionless and Deponent thought he had been Dead,
Says that the Deced's Head was very much Bruised, and
particularly in the Forehead, Says that an Apothecary [..]
sent for, who came and ordered Deced to be carried to a
Publick House in the Neighbourhood, Says that the Deced was
carried to the George the Corner of Queen Ann Street , and
Deponent did not See him afterwards until the Evening when
he called at the sign of the George aforesaidDeads Father in Swallow Street in the Parish
of St. James Westmr.
where he found Deced very bad and Speechly
Says that he was informed that the Deced died between one
and two O'Clock yesterday Morning and that his Death was
occasioned by the Bruise he reced by the fall aforesaid
as Deponent believes.

Robert Brookman< no role > of Mary bon Lane Carpenter on his
Oath saith, that he was at Work on Saturday last at a New
built House in Wimpole Street , Says that Deced was coming
up Stairs in said House, that Deponent desired Deced to take
care how he came up, the Stairs not being finished and no Banisters put up Says that
he was at Work two pair of Stairs between two and three O'
Clock, saw Deced fall down, from thence over the Staircase
(where Deced was playing) Says he was informed that Deced
