to Wit.


An Inquisition Indented, taken for Our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church
of St. Peter in Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Eleventh day of June in the Second Year of
the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and
Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > Coroner of Our said
Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of Leonard Thompson< no role > an Infant,
then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of John Jarvis< no role > William Martin< no role > Alexander Ranny< no role > George Pearson< no role > ,
Thomas Jefferys< no role > , John Simpole< no role > , John Wiseman< no role > John Marshall< no role > Eagle Street, James Craig< no role > , Daniel Tilby< no role >
John Edwards< no role > William Roberts< no role > John Cullis< no role > John Marshall< no role > of Windmill Street , and William Coleman< no role >
good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly chosen, and who being then and there duly Sworn
and charged to inquire for Our said Lord the King, when how and by what means the said
Leonard Thompson< no role > came to his Death, Do upon their Oath say, that the said Leonard Thompson< no role > on
the ninth day of June in the year aforesaid was playing in a certain Street or Lane called Market Lane
situate in the Parish and Liberty aforesaid in the County aforesaid, before the dwelling House of John
Muller
< no role > Hatter there situate, And that it so happened that the said Leonard Thompson< no role > did then and
there casually accidentally and by misfortune fall through the Cellar Window of the said John Miiller into
a certain Copper in the said Cellar then and there filled with Hot Liquor commonly called Planking Liquor;
By reason whereof he the said Leonard Thompson< no role > did then and there from the said Liquor casually
accidentally and by Misfortune receive divers Mortal Scalds in and upon his face, left Arm, Belly and Privities,
Of which said Mortal Scalds he the said Leonard Thompson< no role > from the said ninth day of June in the Year aforesaid, until
the day following in the same Year at the Parish aforesaid within the said Liberty and County, did languish, & languishing
did live, Of which Mortal Scalds the said Leonard Thompson< no role > on the Day and Year last mentioned, at the Parish aforesaid, within the
Liberty and County aforesaid did Dye. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said John Jervis< no role > Foreman, on the
behalf of himself and the rest of the said Jurors, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals
the Day Year and Place abovementioned.
