On an Indictment at the Prosecution of
Mary the Wife of the said Robert Bowden< no role >
for a Common Assault

Robert Mason< no role > of Three Angus Court Chancery Lane
Gentleman Solicitor for the Defendant in this Cause Maketh Oath and saith That he this
Deponent Pursuant to the Annexed Order of this Honourable
Court did on Wednesday last the Eleventh day of this
Instant April Serve one Mrs: Holtom who keeps a
Chandlers Shop in Dukes Court Bow Street Covent Garden
with a true Copy of the said Annexed Order of Court and
likewise with a true Copy of the Annexed Notice of
Trial by tendering each of them to her (and on her refusing
to take them) laying them before her on a Table in the Parlour
be hand her Shop and at the same time Acquainted her
with the Contents of each of them And at the same
time Inquired of the said Mrs: Holtom if she had seen
the said Mary Bowden< no role > the Prosecutrix in this Cause
since Monday Morning last who said She had not
but Acknowledged to this Depont. as she did last Monday
that the said Mary Bowden< no role > Lodged with her the said Mrs.
Holtom And this Deponent further Saith that Yesterday
Evening between the hours of Seven and Eight he this
Deponent did call at the said Mrs. Holtoms and Enquired
of her if she had seen the said Mrs. Bowden who told
this Deponent she had Seen her Yesterday Morning and
had Acquainted her that the above mentioned Copies of the
Annexed Order and Notice of Trial were left there with
her but that the said Mary Bowden< no role > refused to take them or
Words to that effect
