Westminster To wit

These are Certify That the Statute Law now in force
(to Oblige the Inhabitants to mend the Highways Six days in the
Year) is not Sufficient to repair and amend the Highways of the
Parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the said Liberty without
an order of the Quarter Sessions of the peace held for the said Liberty
to make a Rate & Assessment on the Inhabitants of the said parish
for raising the Sum of Four hundred pounds & upwards for and
towards the reparing & amending the Highways belonging to the
said Parish and in our Opinion the Contents of the within written
Petition is true. Dated the 26th. Day of June 1746
