In Pursuance of the Order indorsed on the Petition
of Appeal hereunto annexed We have Examined the
matters of complaint contained in the said Petition and
also the rate of that part of the Parish of St. Leonard
Foster Lane which lies in the Liberty of St. Martins
Se Grand and find the same to be a pound Rate made
on the Inhabitants of the said Parish And that the
Petitioner Elizabeth Kennedy< no role > (as we apprehend) is not
rated more than the true rent of her house but not
being able to get sight of any receipts from her
Landlord cannot be certain.

That the house of the said Petitioner is one of the
best houses in the said Liberty. That it does not appear
to us that the said Petitioner has paid the Poors
rate for several years past but has given the Overseers
ten shillings or half a Guinea in stead of the said rate
for the then current year when by the said rate she
stood chargable with three pounds to the same.

That her Children are Edward< no role > aged 20 Years and
Married , Mary< no role > aged 18 years Alexander< no role > aged 16 years
Elizabeth< no role > aged 12 years and Margaret< no role > aged 10 years
which we submitt to the Judgment of this Court
whether they may not be made to earn their own
living.

We have great reason to believe the Petitioner
is poor But the said Rate being a pound rate and
