THIS Indenture Witnesseth, That [..] Allen Daughter
of Wm Allen< no role > Bricklayer Deseased of the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields in the County of Middlesex , doth put h er self Apprentice to Elizabeth
Rose
< no role > [..] of St Gilles in the fields to learn
h er Art, and with h er after the manner of an Apprentice to serve from the Date
hereof, unto the full End and Term of five Years from thence next ensuing,
and fully to be compleat and ended; during which Term, the said Apprentice h er
said M ister faithfully shall and will serve, h er Secrets keep, h er lawful Commandments every
where gladly do, S h e shall do no Damage to h er said M isters nor fee any done by others; but to
h er Power shall let, or forthwith give Notice to h er said M istar of the same. The Goods of of h er
said M ister S h e Shall not waste, nor lend them unlawfully to any; Hurt to h er said M ister S h e
shall not do, cause, or procure to be done; S h e shall neigther Buy nor Sell without h er M isters
Leave; Theatres, Taverns, Inns, or Alehouse, S h e shall not haunt; at Cards, Dice, Tables, or any
other unlawful Game S h e shall not play; Matrimony contract, nor Fornication commit; or from
the Service of h er said M istis Day or Night absent h er self; but in all Things as an honest, sober,
and faithful Apprentice shall and will demean and behave h er self towards h er said M istirs and all
h er during all the said Term. And the said M istus in Consideration of the Sum of [..]
Shilings to Cloths for Siad up [..] his being the Money given with
the said Apprentice by the Trustees of St. Martin's Grey-Coat Charity Schools, shall teach and instruct,
or cause to be taught and instructed, in the Art which S h e now useth, by the best means that S h e can;
finding and allowing unto h er said Apprentice sufficient Meat, Drink, Apparel, Washing, Lodging,
and whatever else is necessary, during all the said Term; and at the End thereof shall cloath h er said
Apprentice with one new entire Suit of Apparel, Linens and Woollens.

And for the true Performance of all and every the Covenants and Agreements aforesaid, either of
the said Parties bindeth their self unto the other firmly by these Presents. In Witness whereof the
Parties abovesaid to these Indentures interchangeably have set their Hands and Seals the 28th
Day of February in the third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign L ord Gorge
by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith Etc;
