I wish it to be understood that I am by no means led to
this step by the delinqunicy of the late Receiver it being well
known that it was resolved on before that fraud was disordered
and would actually have taken Place early in last Year but
on that Account could not with proprely be done, nor till every
measure was taken for investigating and restoring the dewinged
state of the Hospital Affairs, which is now done to the
atmost of my Power, and I trust in so corrcise and clear
a manner as to exhibit a Complete view of Hospital
concerns to any Governor in a few minutes.

As to the General. state of Affairs a may be just observed that
by and abstract of the Rental as it stover Mids : 1780 & now in 1800
a Period of twenty Years, the increase of Rents is but a trifle
short of Five thousand Pounds a Year arising from
beneficial Leases falling in and increased rack rents, which
affords a presumption that the Hospital interest has
not suffered during that period.

I cannot omit this opportunity of expressing my
sense of the many civilities during my continuance,
which will leave a lasting impression on my mind towards
the Governors as well as the Institution

I have the Honour to subscribe my self
Gentlemen

Your faithfil & most obedt.
hble Servant
Edwd. Jeffries< no role > .
