great Charge and Expence of this Hospital

chose Surgeon


Mr President acquainted the
Court that the immediate Occasion of calling the
same was to choose a Surgeon in the room of
Mr James Ferne< no role > deceased. And thereupon this
Court proceeded to the choice of a proper Person
to succeed him. And the Petitions of Mr Benjamin
Cowell
< no role > , Mr John Harrison< no role > , Mr Joseph Paul Mr
James Pierce< no role > Mr John Sheron< no role > & Mr Stevens Turner< no role >
were read severally praying to be admitted one of the
Surgeons of this Hospital and being severally put
in Nomination. It appeared that Mr Joseph &Paul
had the Majority whereupon he was declared to be
