formerly lett together in One Lease at Four pounds Eight Shillings per
Ann to Josias Ward< no role > and were afterwards assigned to Richard Hazard< no role >
The said old Lease Expired at Widsomer Anno Dom 1700: And
whereas the said John Terry< no role > after the makeing the said agreement
with us assigned over the benefitt thereof to Samuell Ferres of the parrish
of St: Thomas in Southwarke aforesaid Dyer and hath made it his
Request to us that the said Lease may be granted to the said Samuell
Ferres
< no role > And he the said Samuell Ferres< no role > haveing paid down the said Fine we agreed thereunto and have
Ordered the same Lease to be made accordingly to the said Samuell Ferres< no role >
with such Covenants as are contained in the said old Lease made to the
said Ward and other reasonable Covenants.

And Wee have agreed with Edward Ebbitt< no role > Citizen
and Dyer of London to grant him a Lease of Eight small Messuages
or Tenements scituate in the said parrish of St: Thomas within the
Close of this Hospitall on the Southside of the New way leading out of
St: Thomas's into the Maze For the Terme of Twenty One years from
Lady Day which will be in the year of our Lord 1703 at which time the
old Lease granted of the said Eight Tenements and two other Tenements
in the said parrish of St: Thomas to Edward Christopher< no role > and Mary< no role >
his wife at Five pounds Ten Shillings per Ann doth expire Under the
yearly Rent of 44s: payable Quarterly and For a Fine of One Hundred
pounds to be paid within Two Months from the Seventh Day of March
last and with such Covenants as are contained in the said old Lease
(Mutatis Wutandis) and such other Covenants as shall be reasonable

And whereas at a Committee the Ninth day of May
last the Right Woppll: the president of this Hospitall (being there present)
was pleased to informe the said Comittee that pursuant to the desire and
Recomendacon of the Generall Court held here the Fifth day of June then
last past he had treated with Doctr: Cyprianns about his instructing Two
Surgeons for the service of this Hospitall in his Method of Cutting for the
Stone and that the Docter had & pressed himselfe very ready and
willing to doe the same as soon as he should have notice what two Surgeons
were appointed for that purpose And wee being then acquainted that Mr: Elton
(who was chosen with Mr: Rydoubt the last year to be employed as one of the
principall Surgeons for Cutting of the Stone in this Hospitall for one year
ending at Midsomer then next comeing desired to be excused at present [..]
reason of his Indisposicon from Acting in that Operacon And there being
severall Patients in the House who waited to be Cutt and that being the
propper season of the year for doeing it wee thought it highly necessary forthwith
