I Reced yor. Letter of the 5th. inst. by wch. you write that you have
pd. Mr. Barringer One Yor. Rent And therefore he gave you warning
to leave the Farme wch. I do not understand I Suppose he gave
you Warning because you are a great deal in Arreare of Rent
pray explain this to me & let me know how much you pay
a year for your Farme & how much Rent you Owe

You Say Mr. Blows has taken away some of the Land which you
used formerly with the Farme, Pray how much is it, And who
is Mr. Blows. Whether a Farmer or owner of an Estate or Steward
to any Body

The Sooner you Answer this Letter the Sooner I shall be able to
do you what Service may be necessary.

If you can tell let me know who Mr. Barringer designs to put
into your Farme I am

There is a Parcell of Land of 53. Acres Tyth free wch. lies in the Parish of
Wivelingham & is Adventures Land & is lett at £20. a year from year to year
free of Adventures Assessmts. Kings Tax & all other Out goings to Wm. Lawton< no role >
Antho: Eliard< no role > & John Smith< no role > all of Cottenham The sd. Grounds are called Lockspitts
and his said and Improvemt. might be made if parted by Ditches into several
Pastures because One part of it is said to be extraordinary good for feeding very
early at Spring And the Entrance is from Candlemas to Candlemas on accot. of
the early Fees Now the favour I pray of you is to informe your selfe if all these
representations are true & to give me your Opinion of the intr [..] sick & true
value of this little Estate And also to let me know what Levell it lyes in & what
extent of Banking or Scouring of Water courses or Drains it is lyable to And what
Damage or Charges may accidentally arise by Floods & what the Banks are
to defend this Land from Because it must lye a great Way from the sea
And Whether by extraordinary floods it is exposed to be lost or rendred useless And
how much the Adventures Tax or Assessmt. may Amount to in the worst Seasons
by reason of extraordinary Floods & in general all that you think worth
notice And upon the whole whether you think it a fit & Secure Purchase
for this Hospl. & what in your esteem it is worth And whether the above
mentioned or other good Tennts. would take a 21. Years Lease on the same
