That your Petitioner was on the eighteenth
day of October 1799 convicted in the Penalty of Four Pounds
by
Humphry Jackson< no role >
Esquire
one of the Justices of the
peace for the said County upon an Information Exhibited
and Prosecuted by
William Lumley< no role >
charging that your
Petitioner did on the eleventh day of October then
instant upon a certain Turnpike Road in the Parish of
Tottenham
in the County of Middlesex
unlawfully use
or cause to be used a Cart of which your Petitioner
was they the Owner without having first Painted or
caused to be pointed on some Conspicuous part of the
said Cart his Christian and Surname and Place or abode
in large legible Letters Contrary to the Statute in that
case made and provided
That your Petitioner conceives himself
aggrieved by such Conviction and is advised to appeal
against the same
Your Petitioner therefore humbly
prays that your Worships will be pleased
to enter his appeal so that the same
may be heard at their present General
Quarter Sessions of the peace and that
your worships will appoint a day for
hearing and determining the same
And your Petitioner shall pray Etc
