Middlesex October Sessions 1794

The King on the Prosecution of Sarah Brown< no role >
against

James Brown< no role > For an Assault
James Brown< no role > of Brooks Market in the County
of Middlesex Victualler the above named
Defendant maketh Oath and faith that he this
Deponent lawing in July last been taken in
Custody and Warrant issued at the instance
of his Wife by the Justices at the Police office
in Hall only Garden before whom he was taken and
Bail given to appear at the then next Sessions
of Peace to be holder in and for the County of
Middlesex in the said Month of July when
he this Deponent put in Bail before the
Bench of Justices but Defendant neglected
through ignorance to give Notice to buy his
traverse on the said Recognizance conceiving
it was the intention of Prosecutor to exhibit
the obticles of the Peace against him instead
of an Indictment for an Assault and therefore
did not take such Steps as was necessary
for his defence on the Said Indictment and
this Deponent further saith that since he
entered into the above recognizance all
Matters in dispute [..] and every difference has
been settled between this Deponent and
Prosecutor who has applied for relief to the
Parish of Saint andrew Holborn in the
County aforesaid and in consequence
Deponent has allowed her one Guinea
