The Report of the Committee appointed to
inquire into the State of the Sick in the New
prison & House of Correction Clerkenwell

Mr Harwood the Governor of the House of Correction Clerkenwell &
Mr Newport the Keeper of the New prison there declared
that they had No prisoners in either of the prisons
detained for Fees only.

Mr Gibbs and Mr Chamberlayne the Assistant to Mr Gibbs
the Apothecary delivered in a general Account of the State
of the prisonMr Chamberlayne stated that he had
this Day seen the prisoners and that

Fever occasioned by the Venereal Complaint.
