To the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St. James , at Clerkenwell , in the County of
Middlesex ; and to the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Saint James Westminster in the
said County and to each every of them.

UPON the Complaint of the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of St. James, Clerkenwell , aforesaid, in the said County of
Middlesex , unto us whose Names are hereunto set, and Seals affixed, being two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Middlesex ,
and one of us of the Quorum, that Elizabeth Mary Williams< no role > the
Wife of John Williams< no role > Seaman
hath come to inhabit in the said Parish of
St. James, in Clerkenwell , not having gained a legal Settlement there, and that
the said Elizabeth Mary Williams
[..] is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of St. James, in Clerkenwell . We the said
Justices, upon due Proof made thereof upon Oath, as otherwise, and likewise
upon due Consideration had of the Premises, do adjudge the same to be true;
and we do likewise adjudge, that the lawful Settlement of the said Elizabeth
Mary Williams is in the said
Parish of Saint James Westminster in the said County of
Middlesex We do therefore require you, the said Church-
wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. James, at Clerken-
well , or some or one of you, to convey the said Elizabeth Mary Williams
from and out of your said Parish of St. James, at Clerkenwell , to the said Parish
of Saint James Westminster and her to deliver to
the Chuchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them,
together with this our Order, or a true Copy thereof, at the same Time shewing
to them the Original; and we do also hereby require you, the said Church-
wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. James Westmintser
to receive and provide for her according to Law. Given under
our Hands and Seals, the 30th. Day of October in the
Year of our Lord, 178 4
