The Minutes of the last Meeting being read
Resolved that the Memorandums of the State of
Newgate made from the account given by the under Keepers and persons
belonging to the Keeper thereof at the time when the Committee viewed
and Examined the said Goal be inserted as part of the Minutes of this
Committee
Memorandums of the State of Newgate made from the

Viewed Newgate
the Sheriffs attending Found the
Goal in a ruinous State except the old Calls, in which were only Eleven
Convicts under Sentence of death and no other Prisoner in the whole Goal
Newgate Consisted of Three Quadrangles of rearly
the same size besides the old Calls and an Infirmary now building
Viewed the middle Quadrangle for felons in which also
is the chapel all of which appear in rains except a few Rooms on the
Mastors side now repairing were told that this Quadrangle before destoryed
consisted of about 20 Rooms which would hold about 15 in a Room
upon an average
Viewed the South Quadrangle for Women felons found
it wholly destroyed except part of the Walls and Still laying in the same
State in which the Rioters left it
Viewed the North Quadrangle called the Debtors
Quadrangle which appeared entirely destroyed except part of the Walls. the
