Case

The Pauper Mary Jones< no role > Wife of David Jones< no role > was on the 9th. of October last
passed from the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn to Saint James Westminster
upon her maiden Settlement, the said David Jones< no role > her Husband having
left her and she not knowing where his Settlement wasSaint James
Immediately caused his to be advertised, and in consequence thereof he was
taken and upon his Examination deposed as follows,

"That he is about 42 Years old and was married to Mary< no role >
"his present Wife at the Parish Church of Saint John the Evangelist Westminster
"about 16 or 17 Years ago that he never was bound Apprentice or lived a Yearly
"hired Servant for one Year or rented ten pounds a Year That his Father
"Thomas Jones< no role > lived in and rented a Farm house and Lands in the Parish
"of Kyo in the County of Camarthen in South Wales for 8 Years or thereabouts
" [..] at rent he paid he knows not That he paid all parochial Taxes
"That he failed there and then came to London and never rented £10 a year
"afterwards.
