Supposed to be settled by hired Yearly Service for 4 Years [..]
and upwards with Mr. James a Soapboiler in Holborn 23 Years
ago when single at Eight Guineas a Year Wages-But upon a
close Examt. it appears that Mr. James the Master removed from
Holborn to the Corner of Popes Head Alley in Lombard Street
and pauper went him and lived there about three Months
and was discharged [..] is sure it was more than two Months

But Pauper says that he was paid his Wages in Holborn before
he went to Lombard Street and Seem to want to have it understood [..] that [..] his
Service was then concluded though he went to live with his
Master since- [..] but he owns he recd. Wages for the last
3 Months at the same [..] Rate as before and that when
he went from Holborn he did not know but he might
live with his Master another Year or two and says that
when he was paid in Holborn there was no new hiring or any
mention of his going away so that the service could not be then
determined
