To the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of St. Leonard, Shoreditch , in the County of Middlesex ,
and to the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Alton in the County of
Hampshire

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto Us,
two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace , in and for
the County of Middlesex , (one whereof being of the Quorum)
by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of St. Leonard, Shoreditch , Middlesex , That
Elizabeth Pickernell< no role > Wife of william Pickernell< no role >
who hath gone from and left her destitute and
her three Children lawful Issue Namely William< no role >
Aged Seven years and upwards Jane< no role > aged Five
Years and upwards and Margaret< no role > aged about
four Months leave come to inhabit in the Parish
of Saint Leonard Shoreditch not having Gained
our legal Settlement there and are
become Chargeable to the same: We the said Justices
upon Examination of the Premises upon Oath, and other
Circumstances, do adjudge the same to be true, and do also
adjudge the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said
Elizabeth Pickernell< no role > and her three Children
is in the Parish of [..] in the County of
[..] aforesaid

THESE are therefore in his Majesty's Name to require
you the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of St. Leonard, Shoreditch , Middlesex , on
Sight hereof, to remove and convey the said Elizabeth
Pickernell
< no role > and her three Children

from and out of your said Parish of St. Leonard, unto the
said Parish of Alton


and then deliver unto the Church-Wardens Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or to one of them, together
with this our Order, or a true Copy hereof, who are hereby
required to receive and provide for them according to
Law.

Given under our Hands and Seals this Tenth
Day of June 1778
