Wee whose Hands & Seals hereunto Sett Two of Her Maties Justices of the peace for the
County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum) and Inhabiting within the limitts
of the parish Church of the Parish of & Giles in the Feilds in the said County having Mett
together & heard the Complaint of the Churchwardens & Overseers of of the Poor of the
Said Parish of & Giles in the fields concering a Male Bastard Child born in the said
parish on the body of Julian Clarke< no role > Singlewoman On the tenth day of August instatnt
which is Bagtizes Richard & Hath ever since the birth thereof been Chargable to the
Said Parish & See likely to Contmue, Do Fild upon Examination of the Said
Gulians Clarke taken upon Oath & other Circumanstautes, & That John Lee< no role > of
Devereue Court in the Parish of St Clement Danes in the Said County
Chairman did begatt on the Body of Her the soul Julian Clarke the said
Male Bastards Child, And Do adjudge him the said John Lee< no role > the reputed
Father thereof, And Do Order & appoint him the said John Lee< no role > Forthwith upon
Notice of this our Order to Pay to the said Churchwardens & Overseers of the
poor or to some or one of them the sume of Forty Shillings of of Law Full Money
towards defraying the charge of the said parish for relife of the said Male Bastard
Child for the First four weekes after the birth thereof & for the charge of Her lying in
As also that he the said John Lee< no role > shall weekly & every Weeke afterwards Pay unto
the said Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor or to Some or one of them two
Shillings & Six Pence of like Lawfull Money for & towards the relife and
Maintainance of the said Male Bastard Child for so Long time as the said Male
Bastard Child shall remain chargable to the said parish, And of & from the charge
thereof at all times hereafter shall save harmless and indempuifie the said
parish of St Giles in the Fields , And Forthwith give Sufficient securitie to the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said parish for the performance of
this our Order or appear at the next Generall quarter Sessions of the peace to be
holden for the said County of Middlesex then & there to a bide such Order as the
Justices of the peace or the more part of them Shall take in that Given
under Our Hands & Seals the Nineteenth day of August Anns did 1707
