MIDDLESEX .


At the GeneralSession of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , at Hicks-Hall , in Saint John-Street ,
(by Adjournment) on Thursday the Ninteenth
Day of May - in the Fourteenth - Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc. . Before Sir John Hawkins< no role > Knight,
Benjamin Cowley< no role > , John Walford< no role > , John Spencer Colepeper< no role > Esquires ,
and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to
keep the Peace in the said County said also to [..]
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors committed
in the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint James
Clerkenwell in the County Have at this Present Session Exhibited their Petition
and Appeal setting forth That by a Passwarrant or Order under the Hands and
Seals of Sir James Esdaile< no role > Knight and John Walford< no role > Esqrs. two of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace in and for the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum)
bearing date the Twelfth day of April 1774 A male Bastard Child named Thomas< no role >
aged about four months born in the body of Sarah Cooper< no role > Singlewoman was removed
from and out of the Parish of Saint Luke in the said County to the Parish of Saint
James Clerkenwell as the Place of the last legal settlement of the said Male Bastard Child
Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing the said
Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respective Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the said Parishes their Councel and witnesses in and concerning the premises
It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and the same is hereby allowed and the
said pass warrant or Eatter of the said two Justices is hereby vacated and set aside
And it is further Ordered that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint James Clerkenwell do forthwith Convey and deliver Cach the
said male Bustard Child named Thomas (together with a Copy of this Order) unto the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke or to [..]
or one of them who are hereby required to receive and provide for the said Male Bastard
Child named Thomas until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due
course of Law
