My Lord.
The Justices of the Peace
of the County of Middlesex
having it
under Consideration to build a new Sessions House and to rebuild the
House of Correction
and New Prison
on their own Ground in Clerkenwell
opposite to some Ground there belonging to your Lordship part of which the
Committee appointed to Carry the Design into Execution, apprehended
would be very convenient for making an Opening before the intended
Building, accd for a more convenient Passage to it, if your Lordship
Should be inclin'd to Oblidge them with it, and at the same Time might
Occasion a considerable Improvement to your Lordship's Estate, and as
they have been Informed that Your Lordship is about granting a Lease
of that Ground, they have ordered me to desire your Lordship will be
pleased to Order your agent to lay before the Justices the particulars of
the Ground You purpose to let in Order for them to treat with your
Lordship for somuch as they may have Occasion either to purchase
or to take on Lease for the intended Improvements
The Committee will make the Report of their Proceedings to
the Sessions at Hicks Hall
in St. John Street
on Thursday the next the
10th. Instant and will Esteem it an Obligation to be favoured with your
Lordships answer on this Subject, on or before that Day either by your
Agent or by Letter directed to me at my Office at Mr Jefferson's in
Chancery Lane
neer Serjeants Inn.
