To the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St.
James, within the Liberty of West-
minster , in the County of Middlesex .
And to the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of saint George in the Borough of Southwark
in the County of Surry. and to each and every of them

WHEREAS Complaint Hath been made unto us, Two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the City and Liberty of Westminster aforesaid (One
whereof being of the Quorum) by the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St.
James , That Mary Ellis< no role > Wife of Robert Ellis< no role > now gone
from her and their Child to wit Hannah< no role > aged Six
Months have
lately intruded and come into said Parish St. James ,
and are become Chargeable to the fame. We the said
Justices, upon Examination of the Premises upon Oath,
and other Circumstances, do adjudge the same to be
true, and do also adjudge the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said Robert Ellis< no role > Mary his Wife
and their said Child to be in the Parish of Saint
George in the Borough of Southwark in the County of
Surry
THESE are therefore in his Majesty's Name to require
you the said Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of St. James on Sight hereof,
to remove and convey the said Mary Ellis< no role > and her
said Child
from and out of your said Parish of St. James , to the
said Parish of Saint George
and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and Over-
seers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them together
with this our Order, or a true Copy there of, who are here-
by required to receive and provide for them according
to Law. Given under our Hands and Seals this 6th:
Day of October 1770.
