That from thence went to Isleworth the Deceased being
Still bleeding, that Wm. Beale lent the Deceased a
hancarchief to hide the blood which came from a
Wound from the top of the head, which was there Balled
with Ruin by Mr. Wm. Beale< no role > that in returning here he
complained of his head & being faint & at Turnham
Green they had a Quartern of Brandy that after they came
to Marybone to Mr. Wm. Beales< no role > , where the Decaseds
head was Drest & they thence went to the Queens head
at Marybone, where the Decased said he had read a Blow
at Brentford which greatly pained him, but that he
Knew not from whom, that there was a great Mobb &
Riot at Brentford & they was glad to get away to save
their lives, that he hath not seen the Deceased Since
alive, That he hath known the Deceased abt. 3 Years
and never knew him subject to Drink and was well in
health before he was at the Hastings

That, on the 8th. of Decr he was not at the Election at
Brentford And in the Evening of the Same day he was
at the Queens head at Brentford Marybone in company
with the Deceased the two Beales & others Where the Deceased
complained he had been very Illnsed at Brentford & had
been knocked down there with a stick or bludgeon
& then pulld of his Hatt Which was bloody also a
While Ragg in the hatt and the hancarchief abt. his
neck & Shirt & Coal were very bloody. That the
Witness had the curiosuly to take a candled
examine the Wound on the top of the Decaseds head
when the head appeard to Much wollan & She hair
Clothed with the head that he sath next him that I the
Deceased often said his head was very bad & that he
Must go home & to is head he was in bed.
