Stephen Popham< no role > of the Parish of Saint James within the
Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex Gentleman
Maketh Oath that some Horse takers having Seized on Horse
belonging to Thomas Hughes< no role > of Iver in the County of Bucks
Carrier the said Horse was on the Twenty Seventh May last
Condemned by John Spinnage< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys Justices
of Peace for the County of Middlesex on the Information of
Wadson Bissell< no role > and on the Oath of James Calfe< no role > one of the persons
present at the Seizing such Horse that the said Thomas Hughes< no role >
Acknowledged he had more than One Chaldron of Coals in his
Waggon And this Deponent further Saith that the said Thomas
Hughes
< no role > Appealed from such Judgment and the said Thomas Hughes< no role >
together with this Deponent entred into a Recognizance on such
Appeal before the said John Spinnage< no role > And this Deponent further
Saith that on the Twenty eighth day of May last this Deponent on
behalf of the said Thomas Hughes< no role > compromised the Affair with
the said Wadson Bissell and paid him Six Guineas for the
Horse and this Deponent and the said Wadson Bissell agreed
that the Appeal should be dropt and this Deponent Sent the said
Thomas Hughes< no role > an Order for the Horse to be Delivered to him
and which Horse was Delivered to the said Thomas Hughes< no role >
Accordingly as he informed this Deponent and this Deponent
believes

Sixth Day of June 1767 }
