Thursday the Twenty third day of October Now Upon the further
hearing of the same Petition and Appeal in the Presence of Council as
Well on the behalf of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint Mathew Bethnall Green as on the Part and
behalf of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Saint Botolph without Aldgate and after having heard what hath
been alledged by the said Parties Appellants and Respondents and their
respective Council and Witnesses Whereby it appeared to this Court
duly proved That John Fell< no role > Husband of the Pauper Mary< no role > and Father
of the Pauper Children Mary< no role > , Elizabeth< no role > , John< no role > James< no role > and Ann< no role > was
brought up at the Charity School of the Parish of Saint John Wapping in the County
of Middlesex and in the Year One thousand Seven hundred and Forty Seven
was bound Apprentice by Indenture to John Rudrupp< no role > a Black smith
for Seven Years and served his whole as Apprentice under such
Indenture with the said John Rudrupp< no role > his Master in the said Parish of
Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the County of Middlesex And at the
time if his being put Apprentice the Sum of Five Pounds was inserted
in the said Indenture as Paid and was actually then paid to the said
John Rudrupp in Consideration of his taking the said John Fell< no role > to
be his Apprentice out of a voluntary Yearly Contribution or Subscription
of divers of the Inhabitants of Saints Johns Wapping aforesaid for
the Purpose of Putting out Borts and Girls apprentices brought up at
the Charity School of the said Parish of Saint Wapping
That there are Annually elected by the said Contributors or
Subscribers four Trustees to Manage the said Charity and a Treasurer
That a number of Boys and Girls are every Year bound out by the
said Trustees of the said Charity as Apprentices and Part of the said
Charity Money is advanced with such Apprentices by such Treasurer
by the Order of the Trustees of the said Charity for the time being
And that the said John Rudrupp received the said Five Pounds
mentioned in the said indenture from the Trustees or Treasurer of
the said Charity That the said Indenture of Apprenticeship his was
not stamped with any stamp denoting Six Pence in the Pound to
have been paid by the said Master for every Pound of the said Five
Pounds so Paid to the said John Rudrupp< no role > as aforesaid That the
said John Fell< no role > in the Year One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty
four hired a dwelling house in the Parish of Aldgate within the
County of the City of London of one William Wallis< no role > for five Months
being the remainder of a Term the said Wallis had therein and for
