At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden for the
County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in the said County (by
Adjournment) on Thursday the Fourth day of September in the Sixth year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc

King Assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and
Determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other misdemeanours committed in
the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Martin
in the fields within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex Have at
this present Session Exhibited their Petition and Appeal Settingforth That by [..] Virtue
of a Pass Warrant or Order of Removal under the hands and Seals of Stephen Clarke< no role >
and Joseph Girdler< no role > Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex
(whereof one is of the Quorum) bearing date the Thirtieth day of July last Peter
Nicholls
< no role > Fan painter Elizabeth< no role > his wife and their four Children namely John< no role > aged
nine years and upwards Priscilla< no role > aged Six years and upwards Anna Maria< no role >
aged about Five years and Elizabeth< no role > aged two years and upwards were removed
from the Liberty of Saffron Hill Hatton Garden and Ely Rents in the Parish of St
Andrew Holborn in the said County to the Parish of Saint Martin in the fields
aforesaid in the same County as the place of their last legal Settlement Whereby
the Petitioners apprehended themselves Aggrieved Now upon hearing of the said
Appeal in the Presence and hearing of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Liberty of
Saffron hill Hatton Garden and Ely rents and they consenting by their Council to
the Allowing of the said Appeal It is Ordered that the said appeal be and the
same is hereby Allowed And the said pass Warrant or Order of removal of the said
Two Justices is hereby Vacated and set aside And it is further Ordered that
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Martin in
the fields or some or one of them do forthwith Convey and Deliver back the
said Poor man his wife and four Children (together with a Copy of this Order) unto
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Liberty of Saffron hill Hatton Garden
and Ely rents or to some or one of them who are hereby required to receive and
provide for them until they can Free themselves from the charge thereof by due
course of law.
