Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to keep the peace in the
County aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdemeanours committed in the same County
Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Saint James
within the Liberty of Westminster
in this County exhibited
their Petition and Appeal at this Session Setting forth that by virtue of
a Pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of Francis Caryl< no role >
and Paul Vaillant< no role >
two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the City
and liberty of Westminster
(one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the
Eighteenth day of March last Ann Taylor< no role >
Singlewoman
was removed
from the Parish of Saint Clement Danes
within the Liberty of Westminster
aforesaid to the said Parish of Saint James
as the place of her last legal
Settlement whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Now
upon hearing of the said Petition in the Presence of the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Clement Danes
and their Council It is Ordered by and with the consent of Council on
behalf of the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Parish of St.
Clement Danes
that the said Pass Warrant or Order be vacated And
that the said Appeal be and the same is hereby allowed And that the said
poor Woman be forthwith sent back and delivered to the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Clement Danes
together with a Copy of this Order who are hereby required to receive
and provide for her untill they can free themselves from the charge
thereof by due Course of Law.
