At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John
Street in the said County (by Adjournment) on Thursday the Tenth
day of April in the Sixth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third King of Great Britain Etc before John Hawkins< no role >
Benjamin Cowley< no role > John Spencer< no role > Colepeper Esquires and others
their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to Keep
the Peace in the County aforesaid And also to hear and determine
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors Committed
in the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Saint James within the liberty of Westminster in this County exhibited
their Petition and Appeal at this Session Setting forth that by a Pass
Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of Philip Dyot< no role > and John Cox< no role >
Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
(One whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Twentieth day of
March last Bridget Reilley< no role > wife of Philip Reilley< no role > (who is gone away
and not to be found) with her Child by her said Husband named Mary < no role >
aged about Six Years were removed from the Parish of Saint Giles in the
Fields in the County of Middlesex aforesaid to the said Parish of Saint
James as the place of their last legal Settlement Whereby the Petitioners
conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing of the said Petition in
the presence of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields and their Council It is Ordered
by and with the consent of Council on behalf of the said Churchwardens and
Overseers of the said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields that the said Pass
Warrant or Order be vacated and that the said Appeal be and the same is
hereby Allowed And that the said Poor Woman and Child be forthwith
sent back and delivered to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields (together with a Copy of this Order)
Who are hereby required to receive and provide for the said Poor Woman
and her Child untill they can free themselves from the charge thereof by
due course of Law.
