At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County (by Adjournment) on Saturday the Twelfth day
of April in the Sixth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third King of Great Britain Etc before John Hawkins< no role > Saunders Welch< no role > Benjamin Cowley< no role > Joseph Keeling< no role > Esquires and others their
Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the
Peace in the County aforesaid And also to hear and determine
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanours committed
in the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of Saint James within the liberty of Westminster in this County exhibited
their Petition and Appeal at this Session Setting forth that by a pass Warrant
or Order under the hands and Seals of. Thomas Balack< no role > and Peter Planck< no role >
Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices for the City and liberty of Westmr.
One whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Twenty fourth day of
March last Judith Delby< no role > widow of Thomas Delby< no role > deceased and their
Child to wit Benjamin < no role > aged Eight Years were removed from the Parish of
Saint Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster aforesaid to
the said Parish of Saint James as the place of their last legal Settlement
Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing
of the said Petition and Appeal in the presence and hearing of the Church
wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Martin in
the Fields and their Council This Court doth by and with the consent of the said Parties and their Council Allow of the said Appeal
and vacate and discharge the said Pass Warrant or Order of removal
as for as concerns the said Poor Child therein named And as to the
residue of the said Pass Warrant or Order of removal concerning the
said Poor Woman This Court doth ratify and Confirm the same
And the same is hereby ratifyed and confirmed accordingly And doth
further Order that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westmr. do maintain and
Provide for the said Poor Woman according to Law And do forthwith
send back and deliver the said Poor Child (together with a Copy of this
Order) to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields who are hereby required to receive
and provide for him untill they can free themselves from the charge
thereof by due course of Law.
