Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the
King holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in
Saint John Street in the said County (by Adjournment) on
Thursday the Eleventh day of July in the fifth year of the
Regin of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great
Britain Etc

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of
Saint Anne within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex Have at
this present Session Exhibited their Petition and Appeal Settiong forth That by
Virtue of a pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of Joseph Girdler< no role >
and Stephen Clarke< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex (one where of being of the Quorum) bearing Date the
Fifth day of June last Margaret Thomas< no role > Wife of Henry Thomas< no role > who has
deserted her was removed and conveyed from the parish of Saint James
at Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex to the said Parish of Saint Anne
as the place of her last Legal Settlement whereby the (Petitioners conceivd
themselves to be Aggrieved Whereupon at the request of the said Petitioners
It is Ordered tha the Benefit of their said Appeal be saved unto them And
that the hearing and Determining thereof be and the same is hereby Adjourned
until the next General Session of the Peace to be holden for this County And that
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Saint James
at Clerkenwell on Notice hereof to be given to them in the mean time and
all persons concerned Do attend the Court at Hicks Hall on Thursday the
Nineteenth day of September next by Nine of the Clock in the forenoon
(at which time and place the said Session will be holden (by Adjournment)
as it is Expected to hear and abide the Judgement and Determination of
the Court touching the said Appeal.
