At the General Session of the peace of of our Lord King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John
Street in the said County (by adjournment) on Thursday the
thirteenth day of December 1764 in the fourth year of the reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God King of
Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role > & France
Jelabert
< no role > Esqrs . and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord
the King assigned to keep his Majestys Peace in the County
aforesaid and also to hear and Determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdemrs. committed in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Parish of Saint James
within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex Have at this
Present Session Exhibited their Petition and Appeal Settingforth That by Virtue
of a Pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of Benjamin Cox< no role > and Peter
Planck
< no role > Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the City and Liberty
of Westminster (One whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Tenth day
of November 1764 Hannah Lowman< no role > Singlewoman was removed from the Parish
of Saint Martin in the Fields within the Liberty of Westminster to the said
Parish of Saint James within the said Liberty as the place of her last legal
Settlement Whereby the Petitioners thought themselves Aggrieved Now upon
hearing of the said Appeal and what hath been Alledged on either by the
respective Churchwardens and Overseers their Council and Witnesses in and
concerning the Premises It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and the same
is hereby Allowed And the said pass Warrant or Order of the said two Justices is
hereby Quashed and Vacated And it is further Ordered that the Churchwarden
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint James Westminster
or some or one of them Do forthwith Convey and Deliver back the said Hannah
Lowman
< no role > (together with a Copy of this Order) unto the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields aforesaid or to some or
one of them who are hereby required to receive and provide for the said Hannah
Lowman until they can Free themselves from the charge thereof by due course
of law.
