William Ambrose< no role > Son of Edward Ambrose< no role > of Club Row in Bethnall
Green aforesaid being Sworn and Examined Saith That being in Church
Street aforesaid on Monday the 23d. April 1764 with the aforementioned Evidence He says the said Cart and
Horses that there were several Boys and girls an it to the Number of near thirty
That they all got out because as this Informant Apprehends the
Fore Horse would not go on That then they all got in again
except the Deceased and two or three moreThat the deceased
was for some time standing upon the Shafts of the Cart while the
Horses were going on and Crying "I am not up" I am not up And the Driver of the said Cart
Continued to Let the Horses go on and kept Lifting up the deceased
with his Hand for some time till this Informant Saw the
deceased fall from the Shafts upon the Ground very near the
Wheel of the Cart Called the near Wheel And that such near
Wheel went over him near the Small of his back

Saith That being informed on Monday the 23d. April Instant that
his Son the deceased had been run over by a Cart in Church Street Bethnall Green this Informant
went there between 7 and 8 oClock in the Evening And Brought
Home the DeceasedThat he was alive And Lived about
a Quarter of an hour and spoke a few words And then Died
