St. Giles in the Fields 21. 26 April 1764. Mr. Chapmans
at the Sign of the Coach & Horses in Browns Gardens
touching the death of Ann Davis< no role > then & there lying dead.

Parish CarpenterSays she was bound Practice to Mrs. Mary Hargrave< no role >
at the Bull & Butcher in Browns Gardens Says that abt. a
fortnight since there were words between the deced & her
Mistress for the deced charg'd her Mrs. with making a
where of her Master Hargrows Own [..] danr That upon this
her Mrs. who is very hasty took up the Tap room poker &
hit the deced wth. it upon the head as she was Sitting on
the Bench in the Tap Roomher head bled much & she
got up. That James Mullford< no role > whom the deced called
Husband was at he same time wth. her & saw the Blaw &
immediately he ask'd the deced for a shillingdid
not see the shilling given but they bath went out togr.
Says that she saw Mullsford who pass'd for the deceds
Husband the Night before in the Tap room in a quarrel
between them strike her several violent Blows on her head
& Body with his Fist That she had no Stays on but the same night she
observ'd the deced to have a black EyesSays she had no
conversation wth. the deced more than to ask her how she
didnor did she hears her charge any parthar person to be
the cause of her death [..] but the deced she says Complain'd the
same night & the next morning of her Ribbs being brake

taken & Acknowleg'd the day year
& place above mentioned before
