At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden
for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in St John Street in
the said County by Adjournment on Thursday the Twenty-
Seventh Day of May 1762. in the second year of the Reign
of our sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God
King of Great Britain & Before Thomas Lane< no role > Esquire

< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our
said sovereign Lord the King Assigned to keep his
Majesty's Peace in the County aforesaid and also
to have and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and
other Misdemeanours committed in the same County.

Upon reading the petition of Samuel Wegg< no role > and Henry
Lambe
< no role > Esquires Surveyors of the Highways within the parish
of Acton in this County setting forth that the said Highways are so
much out of repair that tho' the Inhabitants of the said parish
have already done the greatest part of their Duty thereupon yet so
much thereof still remains to be Amended as can't be compleated
without the Assitance of a Rate and that the said Inhabitants being
fully satisfied there of have desired the petitioners to apply to this
Court for a rate of three pence in the pound on the several Owners
and Occupiers of Houses Lands Etc for that purpose as by a true
Copy of an order of vestry annexed to the said petition more fully
appeared and therefore praying by the said petition that an Order
may be granted for the said Inhabitants or such of them as are ususally
present at the making of Rates or Taxes within the same parish
to meet together and make such rate or assessment as abovementioned
pursuant to the Statute in that behalf. This Court being fully
satisfied of the Truth of the premisses & that the Highways of the St. Parish of acton cannot otherwise be sufficiently repaired and that it is necessary that such
Rate as a aforesaid should be made forthwith Doth hereby Order
that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor and such other
Inhabitants as are usually present at the making of Rates for
the said parish do forthwith make a Rate or Assessment upon all
and every the Inhabitants Owners and Occupiers of Lands Houses
Tenements and Hereditaments or any personal Estate usually rateble to the poor within the said parish according
to a Pound Rate not exceeding Three pence in the pound of the
Yearly value of the said Lands Houses Tenements and Hereditaments or such personal Estate as aforesaid
