For repair of the said Highways And this Court doth Direct and
appoint the Surveyors of the Highways within the said parish
for this present year or any other person or persons to be appointed
by two or more of his Majestys Justices of the peace residing in
or near the said parish to Collect the said Assessment after the
same shall be allowed of by two or more of the Justices of the peace
for this County inhabiting in or near the said parish and that the
said assessment shall by Virtue of a Warrant under the Hands
and Seals of two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace of this
County inhabiting in or near the said parish belevied by the
petty Constable or Constables of the said parish by Distress and
sale of the Goods of every person so to be Assessed (not paying the
same within ten Days after Demand) rendering [..] the Overplus of
the Value of the Goods so distrained to the Owner or Owners thereof
(the necessary charges of making and selling such Distress being
first deducted ) according to the Direction of the act of parliament
in that behalf And that the said Surveyors do employ the Money
so to be Collected for repair of the said Highways according to the order
Directions of the Justices of the peace for this County inhabiting
in or near the said parish at their special Sessions to be holden
for the said parish or Division wherein the same doth lye And
that they do from time to time give a true account of the said Monies
to the said Justices of the peace to be assembled at such petty
sessions.
