Eliz: Bateman< no role > Nurse at John's Ward in
the London Hospt. That the deced was brot. to
the Hospl. on Thursday the 14th. Jan: abt: One
in the Morning & direct [..] put into her Ward
he was wounded on the side of his Belly
& was diligentely & carefuly attended by the
Surgeon & Mr. Taylor The died on Monday
Night Died of the Wound, but was quite sensible to
the last-That in discourse with the deced he
told her he went into the sign of the black boy
as Salt Petre bank & call'd for a Pint of a Beer
ly himself & drank to [..] of the Woman who
was in company with some Portuguise then in
the House-That the Portuguise quarreled
with him for it & One of there Stuck him wth.
a Knife-That since he was brots. to the hospl.
Three Portuguise were brot. to the deced &
shew'd to him-That he lock'd on Two of them
who were first brot. & declared neither of them
to be the Men-That the Third to declared to
be the Man who stab'd him, & that he described
the than Plainly before he saw him-says the
Description the deced Gave of the Man exactly
