taken
this 21st. day of July 1761
Who Voluntarily Confesseth & saith that yesterday
Morning about seven of the Clock she this Examinant
Feloniously Stole took & Carried away from out of a Glass
Case fired [..] in a Room belind the Barr (in her said Masters
Mr. Wm. Hodgson< no role >
's Dwelling House) One Silver Table Spoon Mark'd
M: H: upon the Handle which said Spoon: this Examinant broke into
Two parts, afterwards immediately went with the Bowl past of ye sd. Spoon to
one Ann Vickers< no role >
of Parsons Yard
in the Parish of St. Leonard
Shoreditch
aforesaid in Order to go with this Examinant to
Sell the same, who (without ever asking how this Examinant came
by the same) imediately consented to go wth. her, & accordingly did
go with this Examinant to a Silver Smiths in Bishopsgate Street
London
, to dispose of the said Bowl part, & upon this Examints.
& the said Ann Vickers< no role >
asking to give the [..] Value of the
same, the Person it was offered to for Sale ask'd this Examinant if
she did not live at Mr. Hodgsons aforesd who said she did, upon
which Question she this Examinant instantly made her escape & was not
Apprehanded 'till this day. for the said Felony, And further saith
that the said Ann Vickers< no role >
went wth. this Examint. as aforesaid
but was intirely innocent of her Stealing the said Spoon, & that
no other person whatsoever was concerned wth. this Examinant
in Concerning the said Felony
