The Severall Informations of Jane Philby< no role > Benjamin Hocker< no role > & James Ponsonby< no role > taken & acknowledged on Behalf our Sovereign
Lord the King at the Feathers in Great Ealing on the third Day of July 1760 touching the Death of Elizabeth Odell< no role > before Me
George Grew< no role > Coroner on an Inquisition then & there taken on View of the Body of [..] the Sd Elizabeth Odell< no role > as follow.

Jane Philby< no role > of Hanger Lane in Great Ealing Spinster on her Oath says
that on the first day of July 1760 this Depont. saw the Body of Eliz: Odell< no role >
lye floating in a pond in the said Hanger Lane about a mile from the place of
her dwelling, dead, but Knows not whether she was Killed before she came to be
in the pond or whether she lost her Life by being drowned there

Benjamin Hooker< no role > of Great Ealing Surgeon on his Oath says that he Knew
the person of the deced Elizabeth Odell< no role > that she was married & was a laborious
hard working woman: That this Depont. being this 3d day of July informed that
She was found dead & he was applyed to, to view & inspect her Body And this Depont.
found a very great Contusion [..] on the Crown of her Head Spreading
the whole Crown down the upper part of her Face & a great Quantity of
extravasated blood collected under the Skin, & the bridge of her Nose quite broke in;
That she hath discharged much blood from her Nose, Ears, & Month wch yet
continue full: That a string or Ribban hath been strained hard about her neck
wch has made a Mark exceedingly apparent, so that this Depont. believes she was
strangled therewith; for her Tongue is much swelled & 2 Inches out of her mouth:
her Arms & Leggs have been very much burized & many bladders of extravased blood
now remain: She hath also rewd a violent blow on her private parts, whome much
Blood, wch is now clotted, has been discharged, And she hath also been much lacerated
& abused in the same parts: This Deponent cannot believe the said Elizabeth Odell< no role >
dyed a Naturall Death, Or that she was drowned.

James Ponsonby< no role > aged 15 years & a whalf Servant to John Bourk< no role > Esqr . in
Hanger Law aforesd Says that on or about the 24th. Day of June last past a
Woman came with his Follow servant(who appears a woman)in the Evening to show
her the way home, wch strangewoman had some Refreshment & went a way & this
James Ponsonby bolted the back Door of the House after her; but heard her say before
she went that her Husband was a Soldier & that she was afraid that he would meet
her & kill her.
