to the other piece of Ground found out by the said Scavengers & Raker as convenient and
Vacant Ground (being a large Hole or Pitt in the same Field wherein the said Laystall
lies on the East Side of the Burying Ground there) he could Lett or Sell for the Clay that
should or might be digged thereout in one year for the Price or Sum of One Hundred Pounds
and produced a Person that was Ready & willing to contract with him for the same for
which reasons he the said Daniel Harrison< no role > the Younger refused to Lett the said
Scavengers and Raker have either of the pieces of Ground before mentioned for the Purpose
aforesaid Now upon Bearing & Examining as well of the said Scavengers & Raker as
of the said Daniel Harrison< no role > the Younger on the behalf of his said Father at this Petty
Sessions & on hearing what was alledged on both sides & there not being found any other
Vacant & Publick Place in or near the Streets or Highways convenient for the
Accommodation of the County Carts Returning Empty from [..] the said Parishes and upon
Due Consideration had of the Premises We the said Justices Do adjudge the said Vacant
& Publick Place containing about one Acre including a Laystall thereon part of a
Close near the bottom of Grays I am Lane in the Parish of Saint Pancras in the
County of Middx. in the Occupation of the said Daniel Harrison< no role > and on the East
Side of the Turnpike Road there and which was here to fore staked out & used as & for a
Laystall by the Scaverngers & Raker of the said Parishes at the Yearly Rent or Price
of Twelve Pounds of lawfull Money to be proper & convenient Vacant & publick
place on which to Lodge the said Dirt Dewt Ashes & other Filth & near the Streets & Highways
within the said Parishes of Said Andrew Holborn above the Bars & Saint George the
Martyr for the Accomodation of the Country Carts Returning Empty from the said
Parishes And therefore We the said Justices at this Petty Sessions in Pursuance
& by Vertue of the Statute in such Case made & provided Do approve of & order that
they the said Scavengers & Raker respectively have Liberty to Lodge their Dirt Dust
Ashes & other Filth on the same Vacant & Publick place containing about an Acre
of Ground (including the Laystall) for one whole Year from the five and Twentieth
Day of this Instant March, But the said Daniel Harrison< no role > is to have a Draught
or Cartway across the said Ground at the East End of the said Laystall when he
the said Daniel Harrison< no role > shall reasonably Require the same so as that he the
said Daniel Harrison< no role > shall & Do at the same time Grant set out & allow unto
the said Scavengers & Raker so much & the Quantity of the Ground adjoining
to the South Side of the said Laystall as the Ground which shall or may be
separated Staked or pointed out for such Draught or Cartway and so as to make
up the Remaining Ground to the said Scavengers & Rakerone whole Acre And
in as much as the said Daniel Harrison< no role > hath fused to treat about or set any Rent or
Price for Liberty to Lodge the said Dirt as aforesaid & doth now refuse to Do So In further
Pursuance of the said Statute We the said Justices Do adjudge Order & determine that
the said Scavengers & Raker or some of them do & shall pay or cause to bepaid to the sd.
