At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the King holden for the County
of Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street in the County aforesaid by adjournment on Thursday the
tenth day of April in the twenty eighth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King
of Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role > Merry Teshmaker< no role > William Withers< no role >
Esqrs . and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace in
the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds
committed in the same County.

Upon hearing of the Appeal of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields in the County of Middx against an Order or Pass Warrant under the
Hands and Seals of John Martin< no role > and Edmund Byron< no role > Esqrs. two of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the City and Liberty of Westminster (one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing
date the first day of March last whereby William Pressley< no role > and Mary< no role > his Wife and their
three Children named William < no role > aged five Years Francis Rice< no role > aged three years and Benjamin< no role >
aged fourteen Months were removed from the Parish of Saint Ann within the said Liberty
and County to the said Parish of St. Martin in the Fields as the place of their last legal
Settlement And upon hearing of what was alledged by Mr. Lane of Council for the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Ann and also by Mr.
Mr. Pheadris of Council for the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of St. Martin in the Fields This Court doth allow of the said Appeal and doth vacate and
discharge the aforesaid Order or Pass Warrant of the said two Justices of the Peace and
the same is hereby vacated and discharged accordingly And this Court doth Order that the
Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields do forthwith
convey and deliver the said William Pressley< no role > Mary his Wife and their three Children
William, Francis Rice and Benjamin to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of St. Ann or one of them with a Copy of this Order who are
hereby required to receive the said William Pressley< no role > Mary his Wife and their three Children
William, Francis Rice and Benjamin into their Care and to provide for them as for other
Poor at the Charge of the Inhabitants of the said Parish of Saint Ann untill they can
free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law.
