Richard Newsham< no role > of the parish of Chelsea in the County of Middlesex Smith and John
Frazer
< no role > of the same parish Yeoman severally make oath and say and first this
Deponent Richard Newsham< no role > , for himself maketh, oath and Saith That at the Adjournment
Day of the last September Sessions held at Hicks Hall he this Deponent Attended to
Discharge the Recognizance of one James Burnside< no role > , and Rebecca< no role > his Wife (For whom he this
Deponent and the said John Frazer< no role > were then Sureties) and this Deponent further
saith That upon hearing the Names of the said Burnsides Called he reached over to
Mr. Daniel the Cryer and paid him into his hands five Shillings thinking him to be
the proper person to pay it to, and the Court being full of people, and the said
Daniel returnd to this Deponent three pence out of the said Five Shillings and
thereupon this Deponent and the said John Frazer< no role > Came away and Went about their
Business, and this Deponent John Frazer< no role > the other Surety for the said Burnsides
for himself saith, That he was present and Saw the other Deponent Newsham
Deliver and pay into the hands of the said Daniel the said Five Shillings and
Saw the said Daniel redeliver three pence back to said Newsham and then
they both Departed the Court and went away about their Business
