that would not Counte name Vice profaneness or Imorality &
says that he is look upon & Esteemed in the Neighbourhood
(where in he now & has for forty Eight years & upwards lived) as
a just honest & upright Majestrate & that he has been of great [..]
& Service to he Division wherein he lives by his acting in the [..]
Execution of his Office of a Justice of the Peace with great [..]
& Impartiality And this Deponent further Saith that the said Richard
Ricards
< no role > out of Pique to this Deponent & for no other Reason
whatsoever as this Deponent verily believes did refuse to grant
a Licence to Lewis Hallam < no role > this Deponents Brother a Tenant of the
said Sr. Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. to Retail Beer & Ale at a House called the
Taphouse in Goodmans Fields aforesaid but not the Tephouse to
Goodmans Fields Wells as is untruly suggested in the said
Representation although the sd. Lewis Hallam< no role > is a Person of good
Character & although the sd. House is & has been a Licenced Victualling
House of good Repute for thirty years last past which this Deponent
the rather knows to be true for that this Deponent for sometime before
he set up the said Wells & for some Years afterwards was Master
of the sd. House called the Taphouse.
