the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Forty Seven
this Deponent did on the Behalf of Elizabeth Roberts< no role > who then kept
a Coffee House in Ayloffe Street in Goodmansfields aforesaid apply
to Sir Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3164. Knight then & now one of the his Majesties
Justices of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex acting in

the Tower Division & Importuned the sd. Sir Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. to grant
her a permissive License to Sell Ale & Beer in her said House And
this Deponent further Saith that the sd. Sir Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. did at the
Instance of this Deponent grant such permissive License to the said
Elizabeth Roberts< no role > And that the sd. Elizabeth Roberts< no role > in a Short time
after the said Sr Samuel Gowers< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. granting such permissive Licence
as aforesaid & before Christmas in the said year One Thousand
Seven Hundred & Forty Seven departed this life And this

Deponent further Saith that he verily believes that at the time
when the said Sir Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. granted such permissive
License to the sd. Elizabeth Roberts< no role > He the said Sir Saml. Gower
was wholly unacquainted with & believes he never saw her the said
Elizabeth Roberts< no role > & that he granted the sd. permissive License to the
said Elizabeth Roberts< no role > upon the Recomendation of this Deponent
& upon the Character which the sd. Sir Samuel Gower< no role > This name instance is in set 3163. received of
the said Elizabeth Roberts< no role > from this Deponent & upon no other
