The sevral Informations of John May< no role > of Bother hith Main
and John Watch< no role > of Mariner Taken on Oath 18th. Day of
May 1749 Before [..] Us Two of his Majesty's Justice of
the Peace for the County aforesaid
This Informant John May< no role > on his Oath saith That on or about
Two Years ago he this Informant Come to Lodge with Mr.
Richard Trassell Victualler at the Sign of the Three Turns
at Gesporlin the County of Hants with whom he Continued
about two Weeks and then Come to London where he went to
Lodge with Robert Parson< no role > Victualler in Bermondsey where
he Stayed same to me And having Money Due to him for his
Service on Board the his Majesty's Ship the Success He
Accordingly Applyed to One Mr. Hainshaw on Tower Hill
Agent for the said ship And who then to be this Deponent
there was forty pounds Twelve Shillings due to him for prize
Money And Given him Orders to Come to him in the said place
on the first Tuesday of the succeeding Month which This
Deponent Accordingly did And upon Applying to the said
Agent for his Money as aforesaid a Letter of Attorney was
Bought and given By Mr:Robert Darling< no role > to the said Agent in the presence of this
Deponent Assigned to Richard Fanell The presented to be under
the hand and Seal of him this Deponent Which said Letter
of Attorney he this Deponent for then on his Oath saith was made
and Done without his knowlodge or Consent And [..] That he for thee
on his Oath Welieses the said Letter of Atterney was made and
Contrived By Richard Farnell< no role > with a willfull Intent to Cheat
and defraud him this Deponent of the said Sum of Money that at
the said Time the said Letter of Atterney was Brought as aforesaid
the said Robert Darling< no role > Desired the said Agent That the Payment of the said
Money might be defaued a Week longer in which time he said
he could tuoduce a Bill of sale of this Deponent's Effects which
was Accordingly deforesd and some timeafterwards a Bill of sale
was produced Signed by the Name of this Deponent which said
[..] Bill of sale was likewise Signed [..] and Sealed without
his this Deponents knowledge Consent not with standing
which the said Robert Darling< no role > did demand Receive the said Money [..]
