Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middx now assembled in their General
Quarter Session of the Peace at Hick's Hall

Sheweth


The humble Petition of Nicholas Crawforth< no role > .

That your Petr. by Indre bearing date the 8th. day
of October. in the Year of our Lord 1744 was Bound
Apprntice to William Pridham< no role > of the Parish of Saint
Becolph without Aldgate in the County of Middlesex Clock and
Watchmaker for the Term of Seven Years

That your Petrs. said Master has often Beat and
Bruised him in a Barbarous and Inhuman Manner with a
Great Stick over his Head and at other times Beat him
with files over his Head till they broke in his Hand

That your Petrs. said Master frequently comes Home
Drunk at unseasonable. times of Night and has tore your
Petr. out of his Warm Bed and Horse Whiped him in a
most Barbarous manner and which he frequently does

That yr. Petrs. Master when he comes Home Drunk as aforesd.
Beats your Petr. in an Unmerifull manner and often
turns your Petr. out of Doors Where yr. Petr. has been
either [..] obliged to sit at ye Door or Walk the Street the
Remainder of the Night

Your Petr. therefore hbly prays
Your Worps will please to Order the
said Wm. Pridham< no role > to attend this Honble
Court this present Session to Answer
Your Petrs. complaint and Hear & Abide
the Judgement and Determination of this
Court touching the Promises and to Show
Cause why your Petr. should not be
discharged from his said Apprenticeship

And your Petr. shall Pray
