At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign Lord the
Kingto beholden for the County of Middx at Hicks Hall in St. John Street
in the County aforesaid by Adjornment on Thursday the Twenty Ninth
day of April in the Fifteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Second King of Great Britain Etc

Whereas by an Act of Parliamt. made in the Fifteenth Year of his
present Majesty's Reign Intituled an Act for punishing Mating and Defercon
and for the better paymt. of the Army and their Quarters, It is amongst
other Kings) Euarted that for the better & more regular provision
[..] of Carriages for his Majesty's forces in their Marshes or for their
Armes Cloaths & Accoutremts. in England Wales & Town of Berwick
upon Tweed all Justices of the Peace within their Several County,
Kidings, Divisions, Shires, Libertys & Preimts, being duty required
thereunto by an Order from his Majestyor the General of [..] his fours
or the Master General or Lientenant General of his Majestys
Ordnance Shall as Often as such Order is brought & Shown unto one
or more of them (by the Quarter Master, Agent or other Officer
of the Regmt. Detachment Troop or Company so Ordered to
March) I some out his or their Warrants to the Constables or Petty
Constables of the Division Riding, City, Liberty, Hundred & Precimt
from, through, near or to with such Regment, Detachmt., Troop or
Company Shall be Ordered to March requireing them to make Such
Provision for Carriage with able Men to Drive the Same as is menconed
in the sd: Warrant Allowing their Sufficient time to do same that
the Neighbouring party may not always bear the burden, and the
aforesd. officer or Officers who by Virtue of the aforesd. Warrant from
the Justices of the Peace are to Demand the Carriage or Carriage therein
menconed of the Constable to whom the Warrant in Directed, is and are by the
said At required at the Same time to Pay down in hand to the sd.
Constable, for the Use of the Person who shall provide such Carriages and
Men the Same of one Shilling for every Mite any Waggon with five
Horses Shall Travel, and the same of one Shillings for every Mile any
Evain with Six Open, or four Open will two Ctorses shall Travel &
the same of Nine pence for every Mile any Cart with four Horses shall
Travel and so in proporcon for less Carriages and such Constable or Petty
Constable shall order & Appoint Such Person or persons having Carriages within
their respective Libertys us they Shall think proper to provide & furnish [..]
such Carriages & Men according to the Warrant aforesaid who are by the said
