John Compton< no role > of Fullwoods rents near Grays Inn in the
County of Middlesex Gent. All. for the defendt: in This
Prosecution; Maketh Oath and saith that on Monday
last past he this Deponent (not knowing how otherwise to
find out the Prosecutor) went to the House of one Mr.
Mills near Cleare Markett, and Inquired of the said Mills
where the said Richard Black< no role > the Prosecutor Lived or
was to be found, to wch. said Mr. Mills made Answer that
altho his the said Mills: Wife was A Relation of the
Prosecutor he did not know the place of Abode of or where
to find) the said Prosecutor but Expected to See him before
Night or to that Effect Whereupon this Deponent Did
Deliver to and leave wth. the said Mr. Mills Notice in Writing
(A true Coppy where of is here unto Annexed) directed to the
said Richard Black< no role > and the said Mr. Mills promised to Deliver
the same to the sd. prosecutor so soon as he should See him
or that Effect And this Deponent further saith that on the same
day he this Deponently (by the Direction of the said Mills) went
to A publick House in Clare Markett (known by the Sign of
the plume of Feathers ) and there deliver'd to and left with
Mr. Lewis the Landlord there of the like Notice in Writing
Directed for the said prosecutor the said Lewis then
Informing this Deponent that he Expected to See the said
Prosecutor in A short time and that he Seldeme Miss'd
Calling once Every day at his the said Lewiss. House aforesaid
and this Deponent hath been since Informed by the sd. Mr.
Lewis and beleives it to be true that A Relation of the said prosecutor had Called for and
taken away the said Notice the same day it was left for
him; Unmarier aforesaid And this. Deponent lastly
